Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra Maria Lara was the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16, Alexandra played the leading role in several dramas on television. Her fame was due to her role as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's Secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra's work has led her to work on a number of notable international and national projects. These include British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historical mini-series Napoleon as well as other miniseries. Her other roles include being a jury member at two festivals: the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
